the group 'The word "indie" is VERY VERY misunderstood in Malaysia' in facebook caught my attention yesterday.

i agree, the word 'indie' is bloodily misunderstood by many malay youngsters.
yes, unfortunately, MALAY youngsters.
what a shame.
i'm thankful for being half chinese.
at least i can still get away with the shame. somtimes.

according to the wonderful wikipedia,

independent music, often generally abbreviated as "indie", is a term used to describe independence from major commercial record labels and an autonomous Do-It-Yourself approach recording and publishing.

Independent labels have been known to strive for minimal influence on the artist they represent, avoiding the artist-cultivating behavior of many major labels. Artists represented by Independent labels have been known to be focused more on producing music than becoming wealthy and/or well known.

in malaysia,
the youngsters that are easily influenced by a new trend or craze like krumping and shit like that
label themselves as 'indie' and wear checkered shirts, skinny jeans, converse shoes, huge ass specs and carry around dslr cameras.
omg.

i think, this has caused a limit to the normal people with the same fashion taste.
they dont want to be insulted as one of 'them'.
you know, the wasted kids with expensive clothes n accessories that abuse the word 'indie'.

maybe to them, they think dressing up like what i said makes them feel independent ?
that's pretty stupid.

i strongly believe that one dumbass 'discovered' the word indie
and abused the word
then other dumbasses came along and thought it was a good idea
and look where we are now.

like my mum says:
it takes one stupid fool to do something silly, and then other stupid fools come in and follow.

it's 245am and i have an outing with melissa tomorrow
i cant sleep.
i have a blister on my tongue
i've been eating porridge for lunch for 2 days straight.

my uncle who had colon cancer is dying
his liver is swollen
his kidneys have failed
i've been going to his house for 5 days straight with my parents.
i finally get to do something fun today.
(it's already tuesday. hooray.)

anyway, i'm pretty pissed off now.
if you look at the 'The word "indie" is VERY VERY misunderstood in Malaysia' group,
there's this guy named faisal lukman, he thinks he knows everything,
EVERYTHING
about the term indie.
he 'corrected' a few people for giving their own perspective of 'indie'
by 'correct' i mean telling them his perfect definition of the term.
he insulted this girl for talking in broken english
and corrected this person for saying 'checkered' shirts.
(no not me)
the correct way/his way of spelling it is 'chequered'.
it is correct
but checkered is also correct
and so is checked.
checkered is the queen's english
chequered is american english
we go by the queen's english(british).

i hate it when a person insults others before making sure that the person is 100% correct.
i always do research first before insulting rempits and strangers that get my number from idk where. dumb shits.

think before you speak.
